Very nice. I like the silhouette of both pigtails, it gives the impression that the girl is looking at you. I know it's not possible, but to get only her eyes in this shot would have been extreme... Also, I like the fact that you've got the flames in a blur rather than capture them in a moment. It adds depth, even more so than just having focus on the girl, and using large opening... thingy. I don't know the english word for it. Aperture? Anyhow, very nice going.

One usually associates young children, especially girls, as innocent beings. Here, however, the girl is portrayed in a slightly different manner. The title of this piece, paired with the object the child is carring, and even her hair, can all be caught up in symbolism. I honestly just think this is a really awesome silhouette. Fire is not easily photographed. Doing this shot portrait style works really well, though-- where the motion blur of the fire does not matter as the backround to any classic-style portrait should be highly blurred.

Excellent capture; and I'm sure that over the past three years you have refined your talent and style even more. I cannot wait to see your most recent works.
